Despite being postponed by a year because to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo are nevertheless referred to as the 2020 Olympic Games. The dates of the Olympics are July 23rd through August 8th.

There were 15 women from all around the world competing in the first of two qualifying rounds for the women’s discus event at Olympic Stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and one of them was Rachel Dincoff. There were a total of 31 contestants from all around the world who were contending for 12 slots in the championship round.

The first of her three throws, Aggies volunteer assistant coach threw 55.10 metres. Dincoff finished 12th in the group A qualification pool out of 15 competitors after recording a throw of 56.22 metres despite making a critical error on her second attempt.

At the end of the two preliminary rounds, Dincoff was ranked 27th out of 31 competitors. Valarie Allman, also of Team USA, threw 66.42 metres to qualify for the women’s discus finals and join Dincoff in the medal round.

As of right now, Dincoff is one of three New Mexico State athletes and coaches who will be taking part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Lina Khiyara, a freshman swimmer from Morocco, reached the semifinals of the women’s 200-meter freestyle earlier this week.
