Saweetie Keeps Her Relationships Under Wraps
It seems that Saweetie has found a new significant other. The 28-year-old rapper hinted at a new flame on Instagram just in time for Valentine’s Day. Saweetie posted a picture of herself kissing a man’s forehead, but the male had his back to the camera.
She used a shushing emoji in the photo’s description. She afterwards shared a picture with presumably a new boyfriend. Saweetie was wearing only a bikini, and the man’s face was obscured as he wrapped his arms around her.
She later put speculation to rest by revealing that the photos were taken during the filming of the music video for her latest single “Closer,” which features H.E.R. From 2018 to 2021, Saweetie was said to be dating rapper Quavo.
After their split, the rapper was linked to Roddy Ricch after they were spotted sitting together at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game in October 2021; Lil’ Baby in November 2021; and Damson Idris in the same month after he posted a video of Saweetie playing the piano for him.
All three artists denied the rumors. In a recent interview with GQ, Idris put an end to the dating rumors by clarifying that they are merely friends and that he is, in fact, available. Saweetie previously told POPSUGAR, “My ideal first date is probably the arcade,” so keep that in mind if you decide to take a chance on her.
For someone as fun as me, it’s important that I know I can relax and enjoy myself in their company. And don’t give up the challenge; I want to win. Read on to learn more about Saweetie’s past relationships.
Keith Powers: Circa 2010 to 2014
Saweetie and Keith Powers dated for four years before breaking up in 2014, as reported by Capital XTRA. “I was in a relationship for four years from, like, 18 to 22,” Keith revealed about his time spent with Saweetie to Hollywood Unlocked. The relationship had become “too toxic,” so we ended it.
Justin Combs: Circa 2016 to ?
Saweetie needed some time to heal after her breakup with Keith before beginning a relationship with Justin Combs, the son of Puff Daddy. Saweetie may have alluded to the breakup in her 2018 song “B.A.N.,” in which she sings about a man who dumps her for another woman (Justin apparently dumped her for model Aaleeyah Petty, as pointed out by Nicki Swift).
Quavo: Circa Summer 2018 to Spring 2021
Saweetie and Quavo started dating after the Migos member slid into her direct message box in the summer of 2018. The fact that they “kept running into each other” (among other places, at New York Fashion Week in 2018) helped speed up the process by which their DM’ship became an IRL relationship.
James Harden: Circa June 2021 (Maybe?)
Saweetie was rumored to be dating NBA star James Harden in June, and the reports were reinforced by a Like from Quavo’s Migos bandmate Offset. James made news after responding to wild speculation that he had paid Saweetie $100,000 via Cash App for a date in a series of Instagram Story posts.
Jack Harlow: Circa June 27, 2021
Saweetie and rapper Jack Harlow’s rumored romance can be traced back to a fleeting and specific moment in time: a flirtatious moment they shared on the red carpet at the 2021 BET Awards.
This explains why the “circa” description for this one is so short and specific. People who are wondering if there is “something there” between the rappers should be comforted by the fact that the moment was sweet:
It seems like Saweetie never stops surprising us. The rapper best known for her hit single “Best Friend” is currently working on what seems like a million different projects at once. Not convinced?
The 28-year-old is adding host to her extensive resume, which already includes a successful music career, an appearance on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, the launch of Icy University, a clothing line for PrettyLittleThing, partnerships with major brands like Morphe and McDonald’s, and an acting career (check out her work in Grown-ish; you’ll be grateful you did).
